Biography
James is character. I mean not only that he’s a family man with backbone, but his personality and his art tell a history you can’t fabricate. He’s trained under Bay Area legends, worked in NYC during the ‘good old days,’ and has rare insight into the world of tattooing that pre-dates the social media, meta driven era. He has technique and style that reflect a true history of American tattooing, gate kept knowledge passed down from person to person. Facets reflecting past and emergent myth at the periphery of shared American folklore, and the spontaneous energy of creation that drives tattoo culture. James works largely in the black and grey fine-line tradition, but also enjoys Japanese inspired motifs.
