SHUN NAKATSURU
Biography
Originally from Chiba, Japan, Shun has been tattooing in San Francisco for 10 years. He began with an apprenticeship under the guidance of Avelino de Avila at the former Spirits in the Flesh tattoo shop. Shun has worked on his own at a private studio for the last 8 years and steadily built a strong clientele in SF- an impressive feat for a tattooer working without the support of a shop name. In an effort to further refine his craft, Shun joined the 7th Son team in July 2019. Shun brings with him a tremendous work ethic and an original style that stands out in the realm of the Japanese tattoos. He is recognized for his illustrative and unique approach to Japanese tattooing; his black and grey work is dynamic and bold, creating rich layers of texture and pattern. Shun is excited to take on all projects in this style, and is here at Seventh Son to stay.
